State Minister for Shipping Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury said, ‘Under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, we will take Bangladesh back to the road of development, the journey of development. No conspiracy, no anarchy can stop the progress of Bangladesh. We are the legacy of the liberation war, the liberation war is our motivation, the strength to show the way forward. With the spirit of the liberation war, we will transform this Bangladesh into the golden Bengal of Bangabandhu’s dream. No one can stand in the way of this journey.’
The state minister said these things while addressing the chief guest at the distribution of food and relief among the ghat and seamen at the Sadarghat terminal building in the capital on Wednesday (July 24).

During this time, food and relief was distributed among 500 ghat and seamen.
The State Minister said, ‘When I earned my reputation in the world as a development role model of our progressive Bangladesh, based on an unexpected incident and the logical demands of the students, how the development of that country was damaged and destroyed. How the Metrorail of our dreams was mutilated. An attempt has been made to damage the toll plaza which was at the Mawa end of the Padma Bridge. But the bridge building has been burnt.’
He said, ‘Now there are many private electronic media in the country. Due to Digital Bangladesh we are benefiting in many things. But once Bangladesh Television was the only digital platform. That Bangladesh Television has gradually come to this stage today. From this platform of Bangladesh Television, our digital platform, media platform has been created to such a large extent. Where people of the country are spoken about, the country is spoken about. That Bangladesh Television has been burnt. The archive there was to preserve the country’s 50 years, 54 years of how Bangladesh has gradually entered today’s stage. Those archived documents were burned. If you want to know 15, 20, 30, 40, 50 years ago, what kind of news, what kind of programs did BTV, where we were, you can’t see them now. Because that archive has been burned.’
Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury said, ‘The data center was burnt. So far we have not got internet at all, deprived of connection. Such a dire situation. More than that, human life has no value. A woman policeman was beaten to death in Jatrabari. He was not pacified by being beaten to death, after the killing his face was crushed and dragged on the Hanif flyover.’
He also said, ‘Today the economy of Bangladesh is compared with the economy of India. But once Bangladesh was called the poorest country in the world. He took that poor country to a developing country. Does it hurt them? Damage the country like this. I don’t know how much we will be able to cope with the damage to the courage and morale of the people of the country.’
