The representative of the Joint Transitional Cabinet of Belarus for Defense and Security Valery Sakhashchik addressed the Belarusians in connection with the situation with the Wagner PMC. He singled out our military separately.
– All thinking people understood that the Russian Federation, built on lies, corruption and lawlessness, would sooner or later fall apart. We are witnessing the beginning of the active phase of this process,” began Valery Sakhashchik.
“We don’t know for sure what will happen tomorrow,” the Cabinet representative said. In his opinion, “Perhaps Prigozhin will win, mobilize half of the population of Russia, throw cannon fodder into Ukraine.” The Sakhaschik also does not exclude the option that, “realizing that he has no chance in Ukraine, he will turn (Russia. – Ed.) his forces to Belarus in order to score political points on this wave.”
– We know something else, that the pro-Russian path that Lukashenka has been leading the country for all these years has led us to a dead end. We are standing on the road right now. Before us is a lowered barrier and a sign of a dead end. And we have to decide what to do next. And decide quickly. Because either we will use this historical chance and become a prosperous European country, or we will lose everything and the very name of the Republic of Belarus will remain only in books,” said Sakhashchik. — I want to address first of all the Belarusian military. We have no one to rely on, but we, united, will definitely cope with this. We are one of the best nations in the world. We will have time to ask each other questions and complain. Let’s not now, let’s unite the nation. Let’s save our country now. Everything else later. Servicemen of the 38th separate air assault brigade of Brest and other military units, tune in to our wave and stay in touch. We will win.
As UDF wrote, on the eve of the head of the Wagner PMC, Yevgeny Prigozhin, announced the start of a military coup. The mercenaries have already taken Rostov-on-Don and entered the Voronezh region of Russia.
Later, information appeared in the Russian media that the Wagner ChAK column entered Voronezh without hindrance.
Vladimir Putin delivered a televised address to the Russian people, in which he called what was happening a “mutiny”, and the head of the Wagner PMC, Yevgeny Prigozhin, a “traitor”.
