The National Meteorological Service announced that this Friday, May 3, 2024 will arrive with the second heat wave of the season, reaching temperatures above 40 °C in 11 states of the country.
The SMN also reported that a dry line will extend over the north of the country, which will cause winds strong to very strong and dust devils in that region, in addition to rains very strong to intense, with electric shocks and possible hail in Coahuila, Nuevo León and Tamaulipas.
While in the east and southeast of the country, a low pressure channel will form that, combined with the humidity of the Pacific Ocean and the Gulf of Mexico, will cause rains and showers evenings with electric shocks.
These conditions will also affect central Mexico, where they are expected heavy rains in some areas of Puebla, Veracruz, Oaxaca and Chiapas.
Finally, the predicted rains could reach an intensity of between 25 and 50 mm, could cause an increase in levels of rivers and streamsas well as landslides and flooding in low-lying areas of the aforementioned states.
