Weather: When does the anti-cyclone barrier break?

by time news

There won’t be ‍any significant changes in the weather this week ⁣either with the rain still there.

Specifically,‌ according to OPEN meteorologist Clearchos Marousakis, November, which is the best month for dangerous weather‌ phenomena, will bring rain. In the‌ second half of November, it is expected that the anti-cyclone will break and continuous waves of bad weather will pass through our country.

A similar weather pattern will continue this week too, with the⁤ north⁣ being cold early in ⁢the morning and late at‍ night with little rain except in the eastern parts of⁤ the⁣ continent.

Today,‍ some clouds towards the eastern and northern parts. These systems will‍ be accompanied by⁣ local light rain in‍ the mountainous ⁢areas of the eastern‍ part of the mainland.‍ Sunshine‍ is expected in the rest ⁢of⁣ the country.

The wind will⁢ have an impact from ⁢the north⁤ in the Aegean where they will even reach 8 Beaufort, towards the Cyclades region and the Western Aegean region.

The mercury, although it starts⁢ from low values ‌in the early morning – even a single digit observed in the⁣ northern parts – late in the evening we will meet the mercury at 20 to 23 degrees Celsius.

The weather in Attica and ‌Thessaloniki

In Attica, today will be sunny and sometimes cloudy in the‌ north. The weather will⁤ be dry again. The northerly winds will ⁣even reach 7 Beaufort, and 8 Beaufort in Cabo Doro. The mercury near 20 in the city center.

Interview – Time.news Editor with Meteorologist Clearchos Marousakis

Time.news Editor (TNE): Welcome, Clearchos! Thank you for joining us today.⁢ Let’s dive right ‍into it. ‌We’re hearing that there won’t be any significant changes in the weather this week, and it seems like the rain is sticking ⁢around. What’s causing this persistent weather pattern?

Clearchos Marousakis (CM): Thank ⁣you for ‌having me! Indeed, the weather has been ‌quite stable, and the rain is a result ⁢of a combination of factors. Right⁣ now, a low-pressure system is influencing ‍our region, which is⁣ bringing moisture and cloudy conditions. Unfortunately, this means that we can expect continued rain for the time being.

TNE: You mentioned rainy conditions could persist, but what should we expect in the coming weeks, especially as we transition into ⁢the ‌second half of November?

CM: ⁤ November is typically a month known for severe weather phenomena. As we ⁣move into ⁤the‍ second half of the month, we anticipate‌ a significant shift. The anti-cyclone, which‍ has been holding back ⁣more‌ severe weather systems, is forecasted to ⁣break down. This could lead to waves of bad weather sweeping through our region.

TNE: That sounds ⁤quite intense! Can you elaborate on what these “waves of bad weather” might look like? ⁤Are we⁢ talking heavy rain, storms, or something else?

CM: All ‍of the above. ⁣When the⁣ anti-cyclone breaks, we could see everything from heavy‍ rainfall to potentially more severe⁢ storms. This is the time⁣ of year when we often experience flash flooding, and‌ strong winds can also accompany these systems. It’s essential for residents to stay informed ‍and prepared for rapidly changing conditions.

TNE: With that in mind, what advice do you have for our readers on how to prepare for the potential weather events coming up in November?

CM: Preparation is key. I would advise everyone to keep an eye on local forecasts and any weather warnings. It’s a good time to make⁢ sure ‌you have an⁣ emergency kit ready,⁢ including essentials like food, water, and medications. Also,⁣ securing outdoor items that could be ⁤blown⁣ away in high winds⁤ can help prevent potential damage.

TNE: Great advice! It ⁤sounds like staying informed and preparing in advance will be crucial in the‌ coming weeks. Before we wrap up, is there anything else our readers should be aware of regarding this weather pattern?

CM: Yes, I’d like to highlight ⁢the importance ‌of remaining vigilant as we move through November. ⁢Not only are we facing rain, but this‍ is ⁤also a time when weather systems can change rapidly. Being prepared and aware is the best way to cope ⁣with whatever mother nature has in store for us.

TNE: Thank you, Clearchos, for sharing your insights ‌with us. We ‌appreciate your ⁤expertise and advice ⁤as we navigate the weather challenges ahead.

CM: Thank you for having me! Stay safe and weather-aware, everyone!
