The pandemic has forced all of us to slow down and reconsider our priorities in the choices we make, both collectively and individually. It led us to rethink the values that characterize the current social organization, the hierarchy of roles between productive work – in the business and profit sphere – and care activities, of the family and the community, in the non-profit one. The first, which mainly concerns men, the second, which are instead the prerogative of women.

API – Association of Small and Medium Industries – works at the service of small and medium-sized enterprises. Founded in 1946, today it has almost 2,000 associated industries with over 38,000 employees, distributed in all production areas from engineering to construction, from chemicals to plastics, from textiles to graphics and paper converting.
The book. A fragility suddenly emerged that we didn’t think we had. Who among us was prepared to give up leaving the house, going to work, moving freely? Still, we stopped. We felt responsible for everyone’s health, which has acquired new value for the entire social system.
The new leadership in which women can identify themselves
We have been forced to reflect on what values we want to build the future and on the new leadership we want to express, which is socially and emotionally more sustainable and in which women can recognize themselves. For a discussion on these aspects, API organized a meeting with the author, Cristina Melchiorri. Through a dialogue with entrepreneurs, ideas and opportunities will emerge.
