WEConnect International launches book on women’s businesses

A total of 51 outstanding women will have the opportunity to be seen by the purchasing areas of multinationals, the press and key players in their industry to take their businesses to the next level.

San Salvador. WEConnect International presented its book “Atlas of Women-Owned Businesses” Central America, Ecuador and Guyana edition, which includes 51 success stories of inspiring women entrepreneurs.

The countries included in the Atlas are the focus of the WE3A Project “Strengthening Women Entrepreneurs in Productive Chains”. The Atlas admits companies based in Central America, Ecuador, or Guyana that are 51% or more owned by women.

That is, to businesswomen who own their business entirely or to companies in partnership where

one or more women own 51% or more ownership, from which 51 stories were selected that most inspired other women to develop and grow their businesses.

Testimonials that stood out for their actions to cope with the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, for carrying out actions in favor of their communities to promote sustainability, or for working to develop in international trade are included.

These outstanding women have transformed their businesses to seize new opportunities despite myriad challenges. Some of them are even breaking down barriers in industries that have traditionally been dominated by male-owned businesses, such as agriculture, manufacturing and technology.

The Atlas de Empresas Propiedades de Mujeres (Women Owned Business Atlas) was created to honor their achievements and give visibility to women entrepreneurs with potential buyers from more than 180 multinationals, regional and local companies, the press and key players in the productive sectors of Latin America. .

Also with 5,000 businesswomen in the region, through their success stories, so that their businesses continue to prosper and inspire other women who work to be prominent businesswomen in their countries. This major project to expose women entrepreneurs is part of the WE3A project that is funded by IDB LAB and WE-FI and implemented regionally by the Thunderbird School of Global Management in collaboration with WEConnect International.
