LAKE GARDA. That the Olympian Marcell Jacobs has a very strong bond with the Lake Garda we certainly don’t find out today. Marcell took his first steps as an athlete just a Desenzano, where he lived for years with his mother Viviana Masini, which on the Garda has a hotel that it still manages.
And the link with Garda is so strong that Marcell Jacobs she decided to get married right on the lake, in one of the most fascinating locations, Torre San Marco in Gardone Riviera.
The news was revealed by Jacobs’ girlfriend, Nicole Daza, who yesterday (December 14) posted a story on instagram making a glimpse of thewedding invitation which confirms the date already announced, the September 17, 2022, revealing the location, Torre San Marco.
Marcell and the wedding on the Garda had already had an important prologue, because fu right on the Manerba del Garda athletics track than the Olympic champion of the 100 meters and the relay asked Nicole’s hand.
Who knows if Marcell revealed the details of the wedding to mom Viviana in these days when she peeped out on Lake Garda to celebrate the birthday of her first child, Jeremy.
Torre San Marco (ex Torre Ruhland), surrounded by walls on which four other watch towers stand, was built and then used as an observatory, at the beginning of the twentieth century by the German industrialist Richard Langensiepen.
In 1925 it was bought by Gabriele D’Annunzio, which transformed it from the German neo-Gothic style to the Venetian one, making it an extension of the Vittoriale and changing its name from Torre Ruhland to Torre San Marco.
The transformation from a German tower to a Venetian tower was entrusted to the architect Giancarlo Maroni, former designer of the Vittoriale.
Between 1943 and 1944 Torre San Marco was the place where Benito Mussolini and his mistress Claretta Petacci met secretly. The Mas was moored in the dock for several years, the vehicle that was used in the famous Beffa di Buccari, which is now located inside the Vittoriale.
