B3 and CBOT continue to account for devaluations

Corn futures prices continue to operate on the negative side of the Brazilian Stock Exchange (B3) throughout this Wednesday (15). The main quotations fluctuated in the range between R$ 88.35 and R$ 90.25 around 1:21 pm (Brasília time).

The March/23 maturity was quoted at BRL 88.72 with a drop of 0.15%, the May/23 was worth BRL 90.25 with a devaluation of 0.58%, the July/23 was traded for BRL 88, 55 with a decrease of 0.38% and September/23 had a value of R$ 88.35 with a loss of 0.21%.

Foreign Market

The Chicago Stock Exchange (CBOT) also remained negative for international corn futures prices throughout this Wednesday, with bearish movements recorded around 1:14 pm (Brasília time).

The maturity March/23 was quoted at US$ 6.78 with a drop of 4.25 points, the May/23 was worth US$ 6.75 with a devaluation of 4.50 points, the July/23 was negotiated for US$ 6, 63 with a loss of 4.25 points and September/23 had a value of US$ 6.09 with a low of 3.75 points.

According to information from the international website Farm Futures, the favorable conditions for the soybean harvest in Brazil are paving the way for the planting of corn second crop in what is now the largest corn exporter in the world.

“Brazil’s second corn crop is still a little late, but it’s not so late that its yield prospects are affected,” says Farm Futures analyst Jacqueline Holland.
