The Washington D.C. area is bracing for a potential wintry mix on Saturday before the precipitation switches over to rain. Winter weather advisories have been issued west of Interstate 95 for the possibility of a light wintry mix, while a winter storm warning is in effect for northwest Virginia and areas of Maryland north and west of Montgomery County for a few inches of snow and mixed precipitation.

Temperatures on Saturday are expected to range from the mid-30s in the north and west to the low 40s in the south and east of Washington, and even the mid-40s in southern Maryland. Winds are predicted to be around 10 to 15 mph from the northeast, with gusts near 25 mph.

Sunday’s forecast indicates a possibility of lingering showers in the morning before turning partly to mostly sunny and breezy. Highs are forecasted to reach 42 to 47 degrees with northwest winds blowing around 10 mph, and gusts up to 20 mph.

It’s important for residents in the area to stay updated on the latest weather forecasts and advisories and to take necessary precautions in the event of inclement weather.
