The 6th mini album ‘Bliss’ is an album that contains Weekly’s happiest moments that are beautiful and shining because they are young. Through this new album, Weekly plans to unleash the hot summer with fresh young energy and present a refreshing summer song that is more confident than ever.
The new song ‘Lights On’ is a track that expresses the passion and cool energy of summer with Weekly’s clear and healthy charm. It is a dance song with a groovy rhythm and bright and dynamic arrangement. A strong global lineup of producers, including Jake K (ARTiffect), MCK (ARTiffect), who have worked with aespa, Twice, and Red Velvet, and Maria Marcus (ARTiffect), who has worked with Chungha and Oh My Girl, were all mobilized to increase the level of perfection.
The ‘Lights On’ music video, which will be released on this day, is themed around the radiance of youth running towards a hot summer gala show, and contains Weekly’s lively and refreshing energy with the addition of bouncy animation effects. The production team SL8IGHT, which has worked with representative K-pop artists such as Seventeen, Espa, and NCT Dream, participated in the video, and choreographer Kinky, who was active as a member of the ‘How About’ crew on Mnet’s ‘Street Man Fighter’, took part in the choreography, completing a Weekly-style summer performance full of energy.
In addition to the title track, the new album is filled with songs of various genres that depict the summer days of youth in their 20s, including “Twenties,” “Dance Dance Dance!”, “Classic,” and “Page (The story that touched you).” In particular, member Park So-eun participated in writing the lyrics for the fan song “Page,” adding to the specialness of the song by melting her affectionate heart toward her fans.
Following their debut in 2020, Weekly swept six Rookie Awards, and their third mini-album’s promotional song “After School” recorded 200 million streams on Spotify, demonstrating their potential as a global rookie. As all members have reached adulthood this year, Weekly is expected to once again inject vitality into the K-pop scene with the fresh and passionate energy of youth in their 20s through this comeback.
