(ANSA) – NEW YORK, SEPTEMBER 12 – Harvey Weinstein has been indicted again by a New York grand jury for sexual harassment. Deputy U.S. Attorney Nicole Blumberg announced the news in court in Manhattan. The terms of the indictment are currently secret and the prosecutor intends to file a motion to consolidate all the charges, linked to harassment complaints made by other women who have come forward in the meantime, into a new indictment. The next hearing in the Weinstein case in New York is September 18. The former Miramax boss, whose 23-year prison sentence was overturned due to a procedural defect, did not appear in court today: he has been hospitalized in Manhattan for a few days, where he underwent heart surgery on Sunday. “He is almost dead,” said his lawyer Arthur Aidala, and a source for the Deadline website learned that even after the surgery the former producer’s conditions “are not good.” Weinstein still has 16 years left in prison for sexual assault in Los Angeles.
