Welcome to the “Devoir” office in Tokyo

Welcome to the office of Duty in Tokyo.

As Olympic Games sanitary rules require journalists to adhere to strict containment for at least three days, and Japanese hotel rooms are generally small, you will essentially find a bed and a small table separated by a narrow passage leading to a tiny bathroom and front door.

Perched at 11e and on the top floor of the small hotel, the office has a window with a view of the Sumida river and expressway 6. This is where we work, eat and sleep.

It is allowed to take a walk in the hallway. It is also exceptionally allowed to leave the hotel for a maximum of 15 minutes to go to the ATM or buy something at the small local grocery store. A security guard is posted on the ground floor to ensure that the rules are respected.

Make yourselves at home.
