The captain of the Wales national team, the experienced Aaron Ramsey, will play the next two seasons for the club that revealed him, Cardiff City, after terminating his contract with Nice, both parties informed this Saturday.

Ramsey, 32 years old, returns to his country and to the club for which he debuted as a professional, in 2008, before moving to Arsenal, where he played for more than a decade and lived the best moments of his career.

After leaving the Gunners, the Welsh midfielder had lackluster spells at Juventus, Glasgow Rangers and Nice. The midfielder still had a year left on his contract with the French club, but prioritized the family aspect when deciding to return to his old home.

“It’s an amazing feeling to finally be back,” he declared on Cardiff City’s official website. “I always thought that one day I would come back and now is the perfect time to do so,” added Ramsey, whose aim will be to take the club back to the Premier League, which Cardiff last played in the 2018/2019 season.

Last season, the team ended up in the Championship (second division of English football) in 21st position (out of 24 teams), just above the relegation zone.
