Wentz sprains both ankles in Colts loss

Indianapolis (AP) – Indianapolis Colts quarterback Carson Wentz sprained both ankles in Sunday’s loss to the Los Angeles Rams. On Monday, coach Frank Reich acknowledged that he does not know when he will be back.

The former North Dakota State star limped off the field midway through the fourth period after his right leg twisted when they fell on him. He no longer returned.

Reich noted that Wentz injured his left ankle moments earlier in the game and that he continued to play through the pain.

It’s unclear if Wentz will play next weekend when the Colts visit defending AFC South champion Tennessee in a game where the winner will have an advantage in the fight for the divisional leadership.

Indianapolis is 0-2 for the first time since Reich took over the team four years ago and will try to avoid going 0-3, something that hasn’t happened since 2011, when Peyton Manning was injured.
