Werder Bremen can possibly plan with Marco Friedl, Milos Veljkovic and Manuel Mbom in the first league game of the new year against Fortuna Düsseldorf.

The trio that tested positive for the corona virus on January 2 was released from isolation by the Bremen health department, as the second division soccer team announced. After a medical check-up, the three professionals should also start with individual stress, like Mitchell Weiser, whose 14-day isolation has also ended.

The next few days will show whether Friedl and co-trainer Ole Werner will be available against Düsseldorf on Saturday (1.30 p.m. / Sky). Most likely, Niclas Füllkrug will be absent. The attacker also tested positive for Corona on January 2, but has to remain in isolation for the time being. Rehabilitation trainer Marcel Abanoz was able to leave the isolation. (dpa)
