Immediately elected, Élisabeth Borne left her seat to her deputy, Freddy Sertin, to devote herself to her position as Prime Minister and, incidentally, to break the longevity record for a woman at Matignon. His time at the head of government, marked by the long fight over pension reform and the immigration law, ultimately left its mark. “She doesn’t listen. There were a lot of demonstrations but she continued on her way,” laments Lucas, a young Virois. The latter confides that he voted for Élisabeth Borne’s main competitor in the legislative elections: the young Noé Gauchard, candidate under the Nupes banner.
