Snep (National Union of Phonographic Publishing) revealed his ranking of the most purchased, downloaded or streamed albums over the past year. Verdict: 17 of the 20 best-selling albums in 2023 are French-speaking, and 145 French productions are ranked in the 200 best-selling albums of the year, or almost three-quarters.
For around ten years, 17 to 19 French productions have systematically been in the 20 best annual scores. Concerning the musical genre, it is again rap which dominates this ranking: 14 (compared to 11 last year) of the places in the top 20 are occupied by rappers.

Followed by Hamza (2nd), Ninho (3rd), Tiakola (4th), SDM (5th), JUL (he comes 6th and 11th with two of his projects), Djadja & Dinaz (9th), Gazo (10th), Lomepal ( 12th), Orelsan (13th), Aya Nakamura (14th), Zola and PLK.
On the French song and pop side, Florent Pagny (8th), Vianney (18th), Indochine (23rd), Christophe Maé (Christophe Maé), Claudio Capéo (33rd), Angèle (35th), Juliette Armanet (37th), Louane (38th) , Johnny Hallyday (50th) continue to bring together a large number of fans, all generations combined.
