Wearable robot startup WIRobotics (Co-CEOs Yeonbaek Lee and Yongjae Kim) will be operating a ‘WIM Experience Booth’ in front of the 2nd floor ticket office at Cheonan-Asan KTX Station from today (the 22nd) to August 18th (11:00 AM to 7:00 PM).
Inside the pop-up booth, participants can actually wear WIM and experience uphill, downhill, and assist modes for about 10 minutes. This pop-up booth is a collaboration between Werobotics and Cheonan City to verify the effectiveness of wearable robots in improving walking exercise for the entire nation and to expand opportunities for the entire nation to experience WIM in the era of one robot per person.
Unveiled in April, the Wim B2C product is a wearable robot from Werobotics that provides powerful walking assistance capabilities despite its ultra-light weight of 1.6 kg and compact size that makes it easy to carry.
Wim is easy to put on and take off, and can be put on and taken off in less than 30 seconds. In addition, it collects and analyzes the wearer’s important walking indicators such as muscle strength, balance, and posture based on AI and big data through a dedicated app, and diagnoses areas for improvement to provide customized exercise solutions.
Kim Ji-young, head of the marketing team at Wirobotics, said, “Wim is not a robot that is only needed by the elderly or those with walking difficulties. It is a healthcare device that can help manage one’s health through the simple exercise of walking.” She continued, “Most people think that only those with walking difficulties need wearable robots, but those who have actually worn Wim realize that it is a product that provides solutions on how to efficiently do walking exercise in daily life, and that it allows people to systematically do walking exercise on their own.”
He added, “We plan to expand Wim experience opportunities nationwide by holding an experiential pop-up event in Cheonan, which serves as a transportation hub connecting the metropolitan area and the southern region. We welcome many people to visit this experiential pop-up event that will run for a month.”
