Assistant coach of the youth team, Haider Rahim, confirmed today, Sunday, that the West Asian Championship will be an important preparation station for our team before entering the Asian Cup qualifiers next month.

The Iraqi Football Association said in a statement received by the (INA): “The assistant coach of the youth team, Haider Rahim, spoke at the press conference for the coaches of the first group of the (11) West Asian Youth Championship, which will be hosted by the Jordanian capital, Amman, saying, “We are fully confident in our national team players to achieve good results in the tournament in which they will face the Lebanese and Jordanian national teams.”
He added, “Our second participation in this tournament for players born in 2008 is a preparation station for our national team in preparation for the Asian Cup qualifiers. Our work in the training staff will focus on developing the individual, collective, physical, technical, tactical and mental aspects according to the stages of maturity of our players, indicating that “the national team has high-quality players and we aspire to appear in the required form in the tournament.”
The assistant coach said, “Luck is equal for everyone,” explaining, “Our philosophy as a team depends on collective performance, and we aspire for our first match to be a positive key for us in the tournament.”
