jpnn.comPADANG – The West Sumatra (Sumbar) Regional Police have mapped a number of areas that are potentially vulnerable or could experience security and order disturbances ahead of the 2024 Simultaneous Regional Elections.

“The areas, for example, are mining, land and plantation areas in Agam Regency, West Pasaman and South Solok,” said West Sumatra Police Chief Inspector General Suharyono in Padang, Tuesday (24/9).

Meanwhile, for urban areas, the police have also mapped out several potential disturbances to public order and security, including youth brawls, illegal racing and illegal drug trafficking.

He said that the West Sumatra Regional Police had optimized the resolution of cases that arose in the area.

It is hoped that this mapping will prevent disruptions during the implementation of the five-yearly democratic party in Ranah Minang.

However, in general, Suharyono said that almost all areas in Ranah Minang are still in the safe category.

On the one hand, the police continue to anticipate various possibilities that could occur, especially during the simultaneous regional election stages.

To anticipate potential security vulnerabilities and disturbances in West Sumatra Province ahead of the simultaneous regional elections, the local police have deployed personnel to carry out preventive and precautionary measures.
