While Western allies are hesitant to give permission to Ukraine to use the weapons supplied by them for strikes on Russian territory against targets from which Russia is attacking Ukraine, meanwhile, Ukrainians are forced to fight against the aggressor with their hands tied behind their backs, Kalniete assessed the situation.
The MEP emphasizes that fighter jets and drones take off from distant Russian landfills every day. “The Kremlin is sending them to Ukraine to destroy the energy infrastructure there and kill the population. We know that Ukrainians are facing a second winter without heat and light, but we are not doing enough to prevent drone and missile attacks.”
Kalniete believes that the procrastination of Western allies is not a winning strategy. What makes him mad is that allied leaders base their ban on fear of escalation.
In her address to the EP, the MP repeatedly called on the leaders of the Western countries to realize that the winning strategy is to act decisively and courageously.
