Xanthi. The action initiated by school students, parents and compatriots against the shift education practice incredibly imposed by the Secondary Education Directorate on the students of Xanthi Minority Secondary and High School has been continuing determinedly for days.
The action initiated by student parents and student representatives at Xanthi Minority Secondary School – High School to protest the imposition of shift education at the school and to demand a solution to the school’s building problem continued with intense participation in the Eastern Macedonia Thrace State center in Komotini. Parents, compatriots, Turkish Minority representatives and institutions gave great support to the students who gathered at the center from the morning hours. Authorities were protested with slogans.
Students boycotted the school on Monday, September 18, and gathered in front of the school from the morning hours and blocked the school entrance. The students were greatly supported by parents, compatriots, elected Turkish Minority representatives and institutions. The crowd gathered in front of the school then marched accompanied by slogans, and nearly 2 thousand people participated in the protest march.
