A record holder in district, state and national level competitions, he represented India in the 24th Paralympic Games for the Deaf held in Brazil a few months ago and won the gold medal by defeating an Austrian player in the singles category.

He then teamed up with Abhinav Sharma in mixed doubles to win a medal by defeating Malaysia’s Boon-Deo pair.
He also won the team Badminton event and bagged a total of three gold medals for the country. It is at this stage that Jerlin Anika has now been selected for the Arjuna Award.
