On a morning like this, one can only agree with what Benedetto Croce claimed in 1942 in his essay ‘Why we cannot not call ourselves Christians’. It is therefore with great emotion that I lit the Lamp of Peace for Italy, Europe and the world in the Basilica of Loreto. In the conference that preceded the religious function we questioned ourselves about the meaning of Beauty, a notion that summarizes a philosophical, spiritual and artistic vision.
