Brazil, Mexico and Argentina are the largest economies in Latin America, according to projections by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) for the countries’ Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in 2023. The data are from the most recent World Economic Outlook, report prepared by the entity.

At the top of the list, Brazil appears with a GDP estimated at US$ 2.13 trillion. Mexico occupies second place, with an estimated GDP of US$ 1.81 trillion, and Argentina appears in third place, with an estimated GDP of US$ 621.83 billion.

The IMF projection also indicated that Brazil returned to the ranking of the 10 largest economies in the world in 2023, in ninth place, surpassing Canada, whose GDP was forecast at US$ 2.12 trillion (see the 10 largest economies of the world).
