After receiving requests from “Cairo and Abu Dhabi” to extradite him because he was wanted by them, the Lebanese authorities decided to deport the son of the late Brotherhood leader, Abdul Rahman Youssef Al-Qaradawi, to the Emirates.

On November 14, 2016, the Dokki Misdemeanor Court sentenced the fugitive Abdul Rahman Youssef Al-Qaradawi to 3 years in prison, accusing him of spreading false news.
The Cairo Criminal Court, headed by Counselor Hamada Shukri, sentenced Abdul Rahman Al-Qaradawi, Essam Sultan, Al-Beltagy and others to 3 years in prison in case No. 478 of 2014, in which he was accused of “insulting the judiciary.”
On October 15, 2018, the Court of Cassation, headed by Counselor Ibrahim Al-Hunaidi, ruled to uphold the three-year aggravated prison sentence and a fine against 18 defendants in the “insulting the judiciary” case, the events of which date back to the years 2012 and 2013, and among them was Abdul Rahman Al-Qaradawi, whose appeal was rejected by the court. In which he did not present himself for the execution of the criminal ruling issued against him in the case.
The UAE is demanding that Al-Qaradawi Jr. speak about it in a video recording from Syria, which it considered to constitute a crime related to disturbing civil peace and incitement to violence and terrorism.
