I buythe main corporate monitor in Ibero-America, presented the results of its assessment of business reputation for 2023. These results are based on reports that compile and comparatively analyze the assessments of various interest groups, with the aim of making a global diagnosis of the reputation of each company.
In the Dominican Republic, the popular group has the highest reputation, followed by banreservas, Dominican National Brewery, Altice, Clear, Brugal House, Banco BHD, Think about it, Nestlé y AES Dominicana.
According to the study, the elements that supported the elaboration of the company ranking with the best reputation in the Dominican Republic were independently reviewed by KPMG, a global network of professional audit, tax and advisory firms.
Merco also presented the selection of companies based on the perception of different groups interviewed: financial analysts, journalists from Economic information, public sector, non-governmental organizations (NGO), organizations of the labor sector, defenders of consumer rights and professors of the business area.
In the financial analysts’ quadrant, the most reputable companies are Barceló, Aerodom, Helados Bon, Altice and AES Dominicana.
In the case of economic information journalists, there are Grupo Rizek, Grupo M, Argos, Maderas La Universidad and Farmacias Carol. Regarding the public sector, those chosen are Mapfre, Aerodom, Grupo Propagás, Popular Association of Savings and Loans (APAP) and Baldom.
The most prominent companies for the general population are Helados Bon, Nestlé, Colgate-Palmolive, Banco BHD, Induban, Bravo Supermarkets, Cervecería Nacional Dominicana, Banreservas, Grupo Corripio and Farmacia Carol.
On the other hand, the companies with the best reputation in the digital field are Grupo Popular, APAP, Cemex, Pinturas Popular, Constructora Bisonó, Grupo SID, Banco BHD, Cervecería Nacional Dominicana, Grupo Rica and JMMB.

The companies with the best reputation in the Food and Beverage category are Cervecería Nacional Dominicana, Casa Brugal, Bepensa, Nestlé, Grupo Rica, Helados Bon, Barceló, Grupo Corripio, Dos Pinos and Grupo SID.
In the Fuel sector, the MARTÍ Group stands out y Grupo Petromovil; in Energy, AES Dominicana, Grupo Propagas, Grupo Interenergy and EGE Haina, and in Higher Education, the interviewees selected the Technological Institute of Santo Domingo (Intec).
Within the financial sector, the entities with the greatest reputation are Grupo Popular, Banreservas, Banco BHD, Scotiabank, Mapfre, Banco Caribe, AFP Siembra, Inicia, Popular Association of Savings and Loans (APAP) and Grupo Universal.
Responsibility Ranking
For this category, Merco considered the companies that are most responsible with the environment, in their internal environment, with their customers and society in general, and the most ethical and with good governance.
The top ten positions in the ranking of the most responsible companies are occupied by: Banreservas, Claro, Grupo Popular, Bepensa, AES Dominicana, Altice, Banco BHD, Nestlé, Grupo Ramos and Casa Brugal.
The Dominican National Brewery, Aerodom, Grupo Puntacana, Helados Bon, Grupo Rica, Supermercados Bravo, Microsoft, Barceló, Centro Cuesta Nacional and Banco Caribe continue on the list.
Regarding the ranking of the most environmentally responsible companies, AES Dominicana, Banreservas, Bepensa, Altice, Claro, Nestlé, Grupo Puntacana, Casa Brugal, Grupo Popular and Grupo Ramos occupy the first ten positions.
Banco BHD, Banreservas, Grupo Popular, Grupo Ramos, Claro, Nestlé, Cervecería Nacional Dominicana, Altice, Supermercados Bravo and AES Dominicana head the list of most responsible companies internally, with their customers and society.
