The batteries
This is currently the only option developed on an industrial scale: to drive, the electric car with battery emits neither pollutants nor greenhouse gases, provided that it is charged with carbon-free electricity (wind, solar, hydraulic or nuclear). Its use is gradually becoming more widespread in France (13% of registrations last year), while the charging network is expanding, with 83,000 public terminals installed at the end of 2022.
