Since the tragic accident that occurred on January 12 with the bus 540 of the company Copsa Línea Este, which resulted in the death of a teenager, technical tests have been carried out to determine the causes of the event. According to police sources, investigations have shown that the driver was driving the vehicle at a speed of more than 100 kilometers per hour in an area where the maximum allowed was 60.
Furthermore, according to the same sources, no evidence found of mechanical failures in the bus, and “nothing shows loss of control of the vehicle”, which goes against the driver’s version. The examination also revealed that the bus was in perfect condition. to render servicewithout problems in the direction, the suspension, the brakes, neither in the route nor in the environmental conditions.
However, it is still pending to investigate whether the driver was using his cell phone at the time of the accident, since while some witnesses affirm that he was, the worker has declared and maintains that he was not doing so.
In an audio leaked to the press, the driver allegedly revealed that he was moving abnormally, which has yet to be determined and is part of the cause of the accident.
