Historian Duong Trung Quoc also said that he understood that creating a National Costume faced certain difficulties. Besides making efforts, contestants needed to be careful in their creation.
The head of the Miss Grand Vietnam 2024 advisory board appreciates the efforts of all designers. What he likes most is the creativity of young designers. “Using fashion as the main language requires young designers to dare to create and convince others to accept it.
In a context where the audience is prone to comment, I hope everyone has goodwill and tolerance so that designers can bring designs that honor traditional values,” historian Duong Trung Quoc shared.
Meanwhile, General Director of Miss Grand Vietnam 2024 Hoang Nhat Nam said that this year, the designer created many bulky costumes, some of which were 20 meters long and weighed several dozen kilograms. The organizers hired two large trucks to transport the bulky costumes from Ho Chi Minh City to Phan Thiet.
“The organizers have a method of disassembling props and costumes from Ho Chi Minh City to Phan Thiet for the contestants, then continuing to assemble and process. The workload is huge and elaborate. During the transportation process, many problems occurred and had to be resolved,” said the director.

Organizing the National Costume competition outdoors for the first time, director Hoang Nhat Nam faced a lot of pressure. “In the past few days, it has been raining continuously in Phan Thiet, which has affected the stage quite a bit. Organizing it outdoors made me worried that the stage would not be warm enough, and that the performance could not be turned into a festival of art, beauty, and fashion.”
In fact, despite the strong wind, the rain fortunately stopped when the show started. “In the end, the show was quite successful,” the director shared.
Director Hoang Nhat Nam assessed that this year’s contestants demonstrated the spirit of the costumes. The male director sympathized with the contestants wearing bulky costumes, demonstrating their ability to handle situations and stage presence.
“What makes me happy is that the contestants are improving every day. But I wish I had more time to take better care of the competition night, control the costumes and surrounding materials to optimize this year’s National Costume Night,” the director shared.
