The backpack, clothes and umbrellas are some of the 10 most commonly forgotten objects by users in El Salvador in 2022. December 20 was the day on which they left the most forgotten objects on trips with the Uber app.

San Salvador. For the seventh consecutive year, Uber published the list of the most forgotten objects by users during their trips.
The app highlighted that in 2022 travel items such as backpacks or bags were the most commonly forgotten objects and Tuesdays are the day that users forget the most belongings.
The ten most forgotten objects by Salvadoran users of the Uber app in 2022 are backpack/purse/folder/box/luggage, clothing, umbrella, purse/wallet, phone/camera, cash, keys, electronic cigarettes, water bottles/ thermos and gift cards/cakes/gifts.
“In addition to common items like backpacks, clothes and umbrellas, users have also forgotten some more peculiar items on trips with the Uber app. Some of the strangest objects include a starter motor, a martial arts helmet, and an envelope with lung X-rays,” said Carolina Coto, Uber communications manager for Central America and the Caribbean.
Uber also found that certain items are more likely to be left behind on specific days of the week. They also let it be known that December 20 was the date on which the most objects were forgotten in 2022.
If a rider thinks they forgot something on a ride with the Uber app, they can follow the steps below to try to recover their
object: click on the account and enter the “Trips” section, select the trip where you think you forgot the object, go to the Help section and click on “Find a forgotten object”, select the option “Contact your driver for a lost item”, enter a contact telephone number and press “Send”.
The user will receive a call that will contact the driver of the trip where the belonging was forgotten. If the driver confirms that he has forgotten the object, the user agrees directly with him to coordinate the delivery of the object.
Another option to try to recover forgotten objects when using the Uber app is from the website, especially in case the forgotten object was the cell phone. It is only required to log in and follow the same steps to find the corresponding trip information.
Uber advises riders that if they are unable to contact the driver at the time of making the call, they try again a few minutes later. It may happen that the driver is in the middle of a trip at that moment.
