However, according to the above answer, the Ministry of Transport said that air ticket prices follow the market mechanism, during peak periods demand will exceed supply, airlines will increase the proportion of tickets at high prices. On the contrary, during the off-peak period, or flights at the wrong end (low-demand flights, such as North to South before Tet, South to North after Tet), passenger demand is low, so airlines reduce ticket prices.
Particularly during the peak period of the Lunar New Year in 2024, the Ministry of Transport said it has directed airlines to increase flights during peak days; Closely monitor people’s ticket booking status to make appropriate adjustments; Support airlines in finding, negotiating, selling and leasing more aircraft to serve the Tet peak.
The Ministry of Transport directs the Department of Aviation and airlines to fully implement their responsibilities in declaring ticket prices, posting prices, and disclosing price information, to prevent illegal increases in air ticket prices from occurring.
In addition, the Ministry of Transport also directed railway and road enterprises to coordinate and enhance transportation capacity to meet the travel needs of people during the Lunar New Year of Giap Thin 2024.
The Vietnam Aviation Administration has just asked relevant units to ensure related services, but not to increase prices and related fees.
