A few screenshots of conversations between some Awami League leaders and artists known to be close to the party during the anti-discrimination student movement were spread on social media yesterday.

These leaders and artists were against the movement in a WhatsApp group called ‘Alo Ashbei’. There is a storm of criticism on social media about these screenshots. But some claimed they were not involved.

Two-screen actor Fazlur Rahman Babu posted a post on his Facebook account today regarding the issue. He said that it is not right to blame or criticize anyone.

Fazlur Rahman Babu writes, “I have some words about being added to the WhatsApp group ‘Alo Ashbei’. If the admin of a group has a phone number, he can add as many people as he wants to that group. There are many groups from which no one can leave. If the admin doesn’t delete him.”

Fazlur Rahman Babu himself did not join this group. Claiming this, the ‘Manpura’ famous actor wrote, “I have never entered the Alo Ashbeyi group or who is writing what if I don’t see there how will I know what is written there.” It is not right to blame or criticize anyone in a sloppy way.”

Fazlur Rahman Babu deleted his status after clarifying his status. However, the actor did not give any explanation as to why he deleted it.

Apart from Fazlur Rahman Babu, the leaked WhatsApp group included — Rokeya Prachi, Sohana Saba, Aruna Biswas, former MP Ferdous, Riaz Ahmed, Shami Kaiser, Sweety, Masood Pathik, former MP Arafat, Ashna Habib Bhavna, Jyotika Jyoti, Shamima Tushti, Urmila Sravanti Kar, Saju Khadem etc.
