What happened to Chandrasekhar Azad Ravan who came to confront the Yogi on his own platform | Chandrashekhar Azad ‘Ravan’ loses deposit in Gorakhpur Urban

by time news

Chandrasekhar Azad Rao, the leader of the Bhim Army and Azad Samaj Party leader, one of the most important Ambedkarite movements in the country, lost the election. Azad, who contested from Gorakhpur constituency against Yogi Adityanath, surrendered without even being able to put up a good fight. Yogi Adityanath defeated Subhavati Upendradath Shukla of the Samajwadi Party by a margin of one lakh votes after the counting was completed. Chandrasekhar Azad, who came in fifth with less than 10,000 votes, lost the money he had tied up. Yogi Adityanath got 1,64,290 votes while the SP candidate got about 62,000 votes. Azad received only 7,454 votes.

At no point did Azad even appear in the film in the Gorakhpur episode. The setback was that Rawan, who was a shining star on social media and in media discussions, could not convert that stardom into votes at the grassroots level. Azad, who was arrested on charges of being responsible for the May 2017 Saharanpur riots, was jailed for a year and a half. Raavan, who formed the Bhim Army and spoke out for the rights of dalits, also posed great challenges to the Yogi government.

He formed the Azad Samaj Party in 2020. Chandrasekhar addressed the Azad Samaj Party (ASP) and Bhim Army, announcing that Yogi Adityanath would be ousted from the party after the 2022 elections. The attraction of Ravan’s rally was the huge army of youths who were about to listen to Chandrasekhar’s words with the army. Even before the counting began, Ravana and the Bhim Army activists were confident that they would oust Yogi Adityanath when the result came.
