Montse Tomé announced her first list as Spain coach and cited 20 of the 39 players who made public in a statement their idea of not play with the soccer team as long as there are no structural changes in the federation. The Sports Law contemplates the possibility that a player refuse to keep an appointment with the selection. Something that is punished as very serious violation:

Article 104. Very serious infractions

1. For the purposes of this law, the following are considered very serious infractions:

c) The lack of unjustified assistance to the calls of the national sports teams, as well as the failure to make available to the national teams the athletes who have been designated to be part of them.

In it article 108 of the Sports Law itself It details what the consequences would be if the aforementioned players do not respond to Tomé’s call.

Fine of 3,000 to 30,000 euros

1. For the commission of very serious infractions classified in article 104.1, the following sanctions may be imposed, in appropriate proportion to the infraction committed:

a) Fine, not less than 3,000.01 nor more than 30,000 euros.

Without federal license between 2 and 15 years

e) Prohibition of access to stadiums or places where tests or competitions are held for a period of no more than five years.

i) Federal license suspension or equivalent temporary qualification for a period included between two and fifteen years old.
