/ A member of the media office of Erbil Club, Hemin Holeri, announced on Sunday his resignation from his position in response to the desire of the fans, noting that the team’s coach, Abbas Obaid, also threatened to resign unless his requests were met.
Hollery confirmed to Agency, “Abbas Obaid did not resign, but rather threatened to resign if the administration did not respond to his requests within a short period,” pointing out that “the administration did not commit to the players and the training staff in disbursing their financial dues, despite its promises to disburse the remaining amounts owed.” .
Hollery added, “The team and the coaching staff have not received their dues since the beginning of the current season until now, despite repeated demands,” noting that “the failure to pay the players’ dues negatively affected their performance in the Al-Jawiya and Al-Minaa wins the Basra derby”>Iraq Stars League matches, and the team was exposed to several failures due to their frustration and unwillingness to play.”
He pointed out that “the Erbil fans gathered in front of the Erbil Club building after the match with Al-Jawiya, which they lost 4-1 in the eighth round yesterday, Saturday, and demanded the resignation of the entire club management because it was unable to conduct matters properly.”
Holleri announced via his resignation from the club, “in solidarity with the desire of the public who demanded the resignation of the entire club’s administrative system. As a member of the management system, I resign.”
It is noteworthy that the Erbil team dropped in its ranking in the Iraqi Stars Football League, after a series of failures, to 18th place with only seven points.
