Coimbatore: A young wheelchair basketball player from Coimbatore, Umadevi, is achieving success in studies, work and sports even though her legs are paralyzed due to polio.

In childhood, polio left his legs paralyzed. However, he studied well and started working in a leading private IT company.

He was identified by the Chituli organization and told about the wheelchair basketball game. Umadevi, who was initially reluctant, after starting training gained not only interest but also self-confidence and started training regularly.

Umadevi learned the game effectively and developed her skills enough to get a place in the Tamil Nadu team.

He continued to play well in the Tamil Nadu team. Recently, in the national wheelchair basketball tournament held in the state of Punjab, he grabbed everyone’s attention by playing well for the Tamil Nadu team.

As a result, Umadevi has been selected to participate in the training camp of the Indian wheelchair basketball team in Kashmir and has been playing well as the first wheelchair basketball player to participate in the Indian team camp from Coimbatore.
