There is a process to obtain the statement of the complete payment of the mortgage. First, you must contact the lender and tell them that you want the information. Depending on the lender, you may need to log into an account online, call a helpline, or send a formal letter to begin the application process. Or, your lender may ask you to fill out a form.
You may be required to provide personal information, such as your name, signature, contact information, account number, property address, and the date you want payment to be made. Some lenders will also want to know why you want to pay up front.
In general, most settlement letters contain the same information no matter who the lender is. Yours may have the following: due date of the remaining balance, where to send the final payment, who to make the check out to, whether a cashier’s check is necessary, additional fees to the payment, and an adjusted amount in case of that you pay before or after the settlement date.
When you review your letter, be sure to review the charges, specifically any administrative, registration, or shipping charges.
