Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani confirmed, on Tuesday evening, that what is happening in Gaza and Lebanon is a deliberate genocide.

A statement by the Prime Minister’s Media Office received by the (INA) said, “Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani received, this evening, Tuesday, Baghdad time, the Greek Prime Minister, Mr. Kyriakos Mitsotakis, on the sidelines of his participation in the meetings of the United Nations General Assembly in New York in its 79th session.”

During the meeting, according to the statement, bilateral relations between the two countries, ways to enhance them, and support economic exchange were discussed. The Prime Minister stressed the openness of the Iraqi investment environment to all productive and fruitful partnerships, pointing to the expansion of foreign investments and the diversity of available fields and opportunities.

According to the statement, the two sides exchanged invitations for official visits to the two countries, in order to strengthen cooperation ties, open new areas of joint work, activate the Iraqi-Greek Joint Committee, and develop bilateral relations in light of the end of the international coalition’s mission in Iraq.

For his part, the Greek Prime Minister praised the pivotal role played by Iraq in the region and the world, pointing to the steps taken by the Iraqi government to support stability, security and development, and its efforts on this path.

The meeting witnessed discussions on developments in the situation in Lebanon and Gaza, and the continuation of the aggression, where Al-Sudani indicated that what is happening is a deliberate genocide, and Iraq has sought on all occasions to remind the international community of its responsibilities towards stopping the aggression and preventing the spread of conflict in the region.
