/ Official sources confirmed that the Iraqi national team player, Danilo Al-Saeed, left the national team mission in Qatar today, Tuesday, to participate in the Asian Championship.

These sources told Agency that the departure came in protest against his non-participation in the Indonesia match that took place yesterday and ended with Iraq winning 3-1.

He pointed out that Al-Saeed did not attend the national team’s training today in protest of not participating in the match against Indonesia, as he requested his passport to return and his wish was granted.

The sources also said that the professional players, Muntadher Al Majed and Ali Al Hammadi, expressed their dissatisfaction for not participating in yesterday’s match, but they participated in the national team’s training today.

The sources confirmed that a meeting was held between coach Casas and the players Al-Majed and Al-Hamadi, explaining that the coach expressed his great desire to need them and gave them reassurances to give them the opportunity to play in the upcoming matches.

The Saudi national team witnessed a similar crisis after 6 Saudi players retired from participating with the team in the Asian Cup a few hours before the start of Saudi Arabia’s first match in the tournament.

There were conflicting statements about this between the national team coach, Mancini, and the players who apologized or were excluded from the Saudi Green Team.

The national team coach, Casas, had said in response to journalists’ questions about not including Danilo Saeed, “I do not look at the prices of players and where they play, but I look at the best player.”

Casas also added, “If you include Youssef Al-Amin, for example, some will say, ‘Why didn’t you include Muntadhar Majid?’ And if you do the opposite, they will say, ‘Why didn’t you include Youssef?'”

He added, “I do not care about the players’ prices and names, and I choose the formation that suits me,” concluding his words by saying, “If some people want to become coaches, let them do so, because in the end I am the one who bears the responsibility.”
