The leader of the Venezuelan opposition, Maria Corina Machado, announced a global protest for August 17th. Through his X profile (formerly Twitter), he declared, “Venezuelans will unite in anywhere in the world to raise our voices for the truth.”
Machado called on her supporters to defend the vote at the polling stations on July 28th, elections in which Nicolás Maduro was declared the winner over Edmundo Gonzalez Urrutia.

Machado urged citizens to print their voting record on the page [link] to take to the world protest on August 17th. She emphasized that this act of dissent is to show the world that Venezuelans will not tolerate electoral fraud.
Edmundo González Urrutia demands release of detainees
Meanwhile, Edmundo González Urrutia demanded that Nicolás Maduro release the detained citizens following protests in Venezuela. He argued that defending the truth and expressing the popular will are not crimes.
