The anti-discrimination student movement has read out a declaration of one-point demand for the resignation of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s government.

Nahid Islam, one of the coordinators of the movement, read this declaration at a gathering of students at the central Shahid Minar of the capital on Saturday (August 3) afternoon.

The declaration states that since the current government has ordered indiscriminate massacres. Women-children-students-teachers-workers were not spared from this massacre.

Because, instead of prosecuting the massacre, the government is arbitrarily arresting and torturing the students.

Since, the law and order forces of the government have carried out the killings using lethal firearms.

Since, a large number of people including students-teachers-workers-labourers feel that impartial trial and investigation is not possible under this government.

Therefore, we announce a one-point demand for the resignation of the current dictatorial government.

At the same time, I demand the formation of an acceptable and inclusive national government under the leadership of a person acceptable to all.

At this time, Nahid Islam said, if the internet is closed, curfew is imposed, we will not accept it. Now the students must come forward. You will carry out non-cooperation movement peacefully. If the government stands against the people, the people will not accept it. If you are armed, there will be resistance.
