Located in the Aravalli range, the village of Hajipur Dadikhar in Rajasthan’s Alwar district has been flocking to historians and tourists alike. The reason is only one painting.

The Aravalli range contains prehistoric rock paintings depicting scenes of dancing, hunting and animal figures.

Discovered in 2001, these paintings are spread over an area of ​​10-12 sq km. According to District Tourism Officer Tina Yadav, the rock paintings on the Hajipur Dadigar hills are now on the list of tourist attractions in the district.

In recent years, Tadigar has emerged as a new tourist destination. Tourists from more than 50 countries visit this place. He said the rock paintings depict swastikas, lions, elephants, swords, peacocks, fishes, suns, shepherds tending goats, fighting animals, animal skins and other wildlife.

Dr Neeta Dubey, member of the Indian National Trust for Art, Culture and Heritage (INTACH), an organization working on heritage conservation, said the themes of the prehistoric rock paintings at Hajipur Dadikhar are human figures, post-hunt dance scenes, and hunting scenes. Along with nets, he has clarified that animal figures like bulls, lions, elephants, goats, nilgai etc.

Many tourists visiting Alwar, famous for other sites like Sariska Tiger Reserve and Siliseth, visit Dadikar for trekking and rock paintings.

Tourists are taken from the road to the foothills by tractors. From there the trek begins. Climbing up through the rock you can see prehistoric paintings.

According to the guide, tourists from countries such as Australia, America, Mexico, England, France, Thailand, Poland, Ireland, Norway, Germany, Denmark, Bangladesh, Turkey, Indonesia, Italy, Canada, Spain, Sri Lanka, and Japan travel to see these paintings.
