We are continuously performing Bharatakala in temple programs in our district. For the first time there was an opportunity to stage Bharatakala at the famous Murugan Temple and Mariamman Temple in Malaysia.

Nine students danced. As Malaysians are more fond of Indian music than Carnatic music, we danced to ‘semi-classical’ songs like ‘Marudamalai Mamaniye Murugaiya, Tiruchenduril Kadalorathil…’ and got a long standing ovation from the audience, he said enthusiastically.

‘While from our Tirupur, only the pinnaladais pass the sea, Bharatakala has also crossed the sea. As a follow up, Panguni Uttara Festival also has an opportunity to go there and perform dance.
