What is the position of the teams before the draft?

Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) 11th season players draft will be held today Monday at 11 am in a hotel in the capital.

The seven participating teams have had the opportunity to retain players and make direct contracts ahead of the BPL Players Draft. As per BPL rules, the old four franchises can take a maximum of two players from last season’s squad and one player on direct contract. Besides, the new franchise managed to get two players on direct contracts. All seven teams took advantage of the opportunity before the draft.

The BPL Governing Council has released the list of 198 local cricketers in six categories. Where ‘A’ category cricketer’s maximum salary is 60 lakhs. The minimum ‘F’ category cricketer’s remuneration is 10 lakhs. Apart from this, a total of 440 foreign cricketers have been named in the players’ draft in five different categories.

Teams must have a minimum squad of 12 members. Where 10 local and 2 foreign players are mandatory. As many foreign players can be registered. But maximum 4 people can play. Besides, maximum 14 local cricketers can be taken.
