Various changes are to be made in the school textbooks, including information on the power of the governor.
In the field of school education, a balanced education plan has been in place since 2011. The AIADMK, in power, set up a high-level committee for curriculum change. Based on the committee’s recommendation, the syllabus was changed and came into force in 2018. At present, four years have passed and it has been decided to update the syllabus and remove or change the objectionable comments.
Importantly, the school education department plans to change the word ‘federal government’ to ‘union government’ and information about the governor and his powers. In the seventh grade social studies subject, in the second term textbook, in the subject of state government, the powers of the governor are included.
