SK Telecom (017670) will launch the ‘A. Golf’ service, which provides golf commentary and videos based on generative artificial intelligence (AI), starting from the ‘SK Telecom Open 2024’ competition held from the 16th to the 19th of this month. It was announced on the 13th that it would be introduced.

The biggest feature of Adot Golf is ‘AI Caster’. While viewing the Adot broadcast screen, users receive information written in real time by generative AI based on data, such as shot success probability, golf common sense, and weather. ‘AI Trivia’, such as golf common sense and ‘good tips’ tailored to the situation, is also provided.

For example, when Player A preparing for the tee shot on the 1st hole appears on the screen, ‘Player A recorded a birdie on the 1st hole in this tournament last year. Predictive information such as ‘the probability of making a birdie again is 47%’ appears in the broadcast window.

AI Highlights’, in which AI edits scenes of players’ major matches, are also provided in real time. Linked to the scorecard provided by Adot Golf, users can view the main game scenes for each hole without missing a beat.

In particular, for SK Telecom Open 2024, an ‘Adot Corner’ was created in the 16th to 18th holes of Jeju Pinx, similar to the ‘Amen Corner’ of the Masters. We plan to film all 144 participating players playing and provide highlights for all players for the first time in Korea.

In addition, ‘AI Shorts’, which produces short-form vertical videos of players’ tee shots, putting, and approaches, and ‘AI Swing’, which extracts and plays players’ swings in slow motion, are also provided.

Adot Golf’s AI golf content will be applied to all KPGA and KLPGA games this year, starting with the SK Telecom Open 2024.

Meanwhile, ‘AI Choi Gyeong-ju’, which debuted at last year’s competition, has been further upgraded.

In this competition, the script automatically generated by AI will be broadcast in the voice of AI Choi Kyung-joo, adding to the fun of watching.

SK Telecom reported that AI Choi Gyeong-ju will also appear as a special commentator on TV broadcasts, explaining the leaderboard and introducing the course, working well with the existing commentators.
