Attorney Miguel Fuenzalida, the victims’ lawyer, explained that “the defendant, through a company called Social Money, invited people to invest in investment instruments that, according to the platform, had a guaranteed profit margin of 5% and a risk of loss of less than 0.5%.”

But unfortunately for Social Money users, The risk of loss went from 0.5% to 99.9%, and just nine months after its launch, the total loss of capital was reported, which rose to 120 million pesos.
