That’s what we asked ourselves in the editorial department – and we’ve collected the songs that will carry us through this summer. There are obvious bangers like singer-flutist Lizzo’s “About Damn Time,” as well as more thoughtful songs that have nevertheless become hits, like Harry Styles’ “As It Was.”
A comeback song also made it into our song selection, and Netflix is to blame for that. Kate Bush’s “Running Up That Hill” can be heard in the latest season of “Stranger Things,” supporting and carrying perhaps the show’s most poetic scene.
And there’s another comeback, although Beyoncé was only gone to be even more fabulous than she already was. “Break My Soul” is the name of her song, which plays with house elements and simply fits into our summer song selectionhad to.

With the Glass Animals and their song “Heat Waves” a song finally made it that wasn’t released this year. But not only the title is the program these days, the song was also rediscovered on TikTok.
