Journalists spoke about the US demand that they put forward to Israel in the context of the war in the Gaza Strip.

Alexey Zheleznov reports this on his Telegram channel with reference to The Wall Street Journal.

“We have demanded that Israel not use our intelligence if it would harm civilians in the Gaza Strip,” senior US officials said.

We previously wrote that during a visit to the United States, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant presented to American senior officials a detailed plan for the evacuation of civilians in the city of Rafah before the start of the anti-terrorist operation.

Galant’s plan does not include returning evacuated residents back to the northern Gaza Strip. It was drawn up to ensure the safety of the civilian population before the possible outbreak of hostilities. The details of this plan have not been disclosed, but it is likely to include measures to organize evacuation, temporarily house evacuees and provide the necessary support.

In response, Washington presented its own plan, which is an alternative to a ground offensive on Rafah. It calls for isolating the city and conducting targeted raids to eliminate the threat from Hamas terrorists. It is also proposed to create a joint command center to coordinate operations.

Despite pressure from Washington, Jerusalem insists on the need to introduce IDF ground forces into Rafah, since this population center is home to a significant number of terrorists and Hamas infrastructure. Rafah is the last stronghold of terrorists and entering it will cause serious damage to the enemy.
